GUILLAUME TARDIF, violin

Violinist Guillaume Tardif was born in Quebec City and received musical degrees from the Conservatoire du Québec and the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. He is currently Associate Professor and Strings Coordinator at the Department of Music, University of Alberta. He is actively engaged in presenting concerts and developing recordings as a soloist and chamber musician, and in developing an original pedagogical platform. Guillaume Tardif presented concerts at major venues in Canada, the USA, Asia, South America, and Europe, and is often featured as guest instructor here and abroad. He produced the following recordings, under the Dell’Arco label: Virtuoso Encores, From the Library of Joseph Szigeti, the Romantic Idea, and Gallois-Montbrun’s 24 Paganini Caprices. He also published a number of original compositions and transcriptions, and served as President of the Alberta String Association. He recently undertook the development of a university-based string quartet, the Enterprise String Quartet, with the support of the Killam Foundation and the Faculty of Arts.
